Who can take part
- Be at least 14 years old
- Be able to do usual activities fairly well (Karnofsky score at least 70%)
- Have no ongoing, worsening infections (bacterial, viral, or fungal) before starting
- Have adequate kidney and liver function (blood test cutoffs for creatinine clearance, ALT, AST, bilirubin, and alkaline phosphatase)
- Have good heart and lung function (heart pumping strength above 45% and lung gas-exchange above 50%)
- Test negative for HIV and be able to use contraception (or not become pregnant) as required by the study, plus agree to follow all study visits
