Who can take part
- You are planning to have a C-section (cesarean delivery)
- You are at 34 weeks of pregnancy or later
- If you are pregnant with more than one baby, the babies must be alive at the time of surgery
- Your pre-surgery hemoglobin (“blood level”) must be at least 100 g/L
- You must not be having a hysterectomy (removal of the uterus) at the same time as the C-section
