Who can take part

  • You must have had cardiac surgery associated with acute kidney injury (AKI), and your AKI must be stage 2 or stage 3.
  • You should NOT have chronic kidney disease (CKD) already.
  • Your heart pumping strength should be okay: ejection fraction (EF) must not be below 45%.
  • You must not have serious liver disease (cirrhosis classified as Child B or C).
  • You should not have any active acute infection or active bleeding right now.
