Who can take part
- You have advanced (metastatic) or unresectable adenocarcinoma in the esophagus, stomach, or the area where they meet
- Your tumor is HER2-negative based on standard local test results
- You are age 18 or older, and your general condition is good enough (ECOG performance status 0 to 2)
- Your cancer has measurable spots on scans that can be followed over time
- You have not had standard chemotherapy for this metastatic cancer (or any prior peri-operative chemo was more than 6 months ago; up to two cycles of mFOLFOX6 may be allowed)
- Your blood counts and key organs (kidneys, liver) are strong enough for treatment
