Who can take part
- You’re age 18 or older.
- You have primary immune thrombocytopenia (ITP) and it has lasted more than 2 months but less than 5 years since diagnosis.
- Your platelet count was low recently (≤30,000 per microliter in the last month, or <50,000 if you had bleeding or the doctor decided it still matters).
- Past treatment: steroids and/or IVIG helped at first but your platelet count dropped again after relapse.
- You have a past response to steroids/IVIG shown by a significant platelet rise (>30x10^9/L and at least double your baseline) followed by relapse.
- If you are a woman who could become pregnant: you must have a negative pregnancy test and use effective birth control without missing doses during the study and for 16 weeks after the last injection.
