- You must be 18–80 years old and weigh at least 35 kg (about 77 lbs)

- You recently responded well to a 4-day trial of high-dose dexamethasone (your platelets rose to at least 30,000 and doubled from baseline)
- You are not pregnant, not breastfeeding, and willing to use reliable birth control during the trial and for 90 days after your last dose
- You do not have a history of brain bleeding, HIV, active tuberculosis, blood clotting disorders, or severe organ dysfunction
