Who can take part
- You have confirmed head and neck squamous cell cancer in the mouth, throat, voice box, or related areas, and it has not been treated yet.
- Your cancer stage must be III to IVB, matching specific tumor/lymph-node patterns (T3-4 N0; or any T with N1 to N3).
- Your surgeon believes you can still have “radical” (curative) surgery for this cancer.
- You are 18 to 70 years old, and your overall health/activity level is fairly good (ECOG 0 to 1).
- Your blood work and organ function must be strong enough (examples: hemoglobin, white blood cells/neutrophils, platelets, albumin, liver and kidney tests, and blood clotting).
- You have at least one measurable tumor spot on scan, and you plan to use birth control during treatment and for 3 months after the last dose (if applicable).
