Who can take part
- Be 18 or older and have non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) stage IIIB/IIIC or stage IV that cannot be treated with a curative (attempt to cure) plan
- Have a biopsy-confirmed tumor with PD-L1 level 50% or higher, and your cancer must be suitable for pembrolizumab as first treatment
- Have at least one measurable tumor spot on scans that has not been treated with radiation before, and is not planned for biopsy during screening
- Be able to provide stored tumor tissue from the past (at least 15 unstained slide samples or a tumor block) for lab testing
- Be well enough to participate: ECOG 0–2, hemoglobin at least 9, neutrophils above 1500, platelets above 100, and kidney/liver lab results within allowed ranges
