Who can take part
- You’re between 18 and 75 years old and can sign informed consent
- Your cancer diagnosis is rectal adenocarcinoma, and it’s within 10 cm of the anus
- Scans show measurable liver or lung metastases, and your tumor board says surgery/standard treatment plan is still reasonable
- You haven’t had prior cancer treatment, and you can safely undergo surgery and chemoradiation
- Your overall health is good (ECOG 0–1) and your blood/organ tests and heart tests are within required ranges
- Your tumor’s genetic markers (KRAS, NRAS, BRAF, HER2) are known, and it is microsatellite stable or has mismatch repair protein defects
