Who can take part

  • Be between 18 and 60 years old
  • Have an OCD-spectrum diagnosis (OCD, hair pulling, or skin picking)
  • Have moderate symptoms based on specific symptom scales (Y-BOCS, MGH-HPS, or Skin Picking Scale)
  • Score high enough on testing (estimated IQ above 80) and show response-inhibition difficulty on the study task
  • Not have active substance use disorder or severe ADHD, and not have bipolar or schizophrenia history
  • Be able to safely do MRI scans and not be in psychotherapy or change mental-health medications during the study or within the last 8 weeks
