Who can take part
- You’re 18 or older and have confirmed breast cancer on lab pathology
- Your cancer is locally advanced or has spread (metastatic), and it’s HER2-negative
- Your tumor is either hormone receptor positive (ER/PR ≥ 1%) or triple-negative (ER and PR both < 1%, and HER2-negative)
- You have a harmful (deleterious) germline BRCA1 and/or BRCA2 mutation and are eligible for PARP inhibitor treatment (olaparib or talazoparib)
- You must be able to have a biopsy of a site other than bone (or have a usable biopsy already stored from the last 3 months with both frozen and FFPE samples)
- You can take part and follow the study plan (good enough general health, ECOG score 0–2)
