Who can take part

  • You are age 8 to 17 and have an ACL tear that needs reconstruction (confirmed by exam and imaging/scan).
  • You have had meniscus (cartilage) problems that required surgery before, and you currently have meniscus problems.
  • You and your parent/guardian agree to use a living-donor tendon graft for ACL repair and to do all study follow-ups.
  • The living donor has not previously had tendon taken (harvested) from the same donor leg.
  • You can come to all follow-up visits and complete knee questionnaires and physical testing for the study.
  • You have not had ACL surgery on the same knee before (this study is for first-time ACL surgery).
