Who can take part

  • Be older than 40 years
  • Be able to sign informed consent (meaning you can understand and agree to the study)
  • For study group 1: have a first-degree family member with pulmonary fibrosis, and you personally have no known interstitial lung disease
  • For study group 2: have early lung changes called ILAs or early ILD (not a definite UIP pattern, with certain CT findings like reticular markings and/or traction bronchiectasis)
  • No tobacco use in the past 6 months
