Who can take part
- You must be in one of the study groups: healthy, lung cancer stage IIIA, idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis/interstitial lung disease, chronic lung transplant rejection (CLAD), or immune therapy–related pneumonitis.
- You must be able to sign informed consent and pass the study doctor’s health screening.
- If you smoke or recently smoked, you likely won’t qualify (no tobacco use in the prior 6 months for most groups).
- You must be able to have MRI/PET scans—meaning you can lie comfortably in the scanner without severe claustrophobia.
- You must avoid certain metal/electrical items (for example pacemakers, metal implants, metal clips, or metal tattoos).
- If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, you cannot join the study.
