Who can take part
- You are over 18 years old
- You are currently admitted to the hospital
- Your doctor thinks you likely have leptospirosis (for example: fever over 38°C plus symptoms such as severe muscle pain, calf tenderness, or red/irritated eyes)
- You have signs of more serious illness (such as reduced urination, protein in urine, jaundice, bleeding in the lungs or intestines, or irritation of the lining around the brain/spinal cord)
- You must not be pregnant
