Who can take part
- You have had a fever of at least 100.4°F (38°C) for two days or more and at least one other symptom like muscle pain, yellowing of the skin or eyes, headache, neck stiffness, less urination, or red eyes.
- A laboratory test (blood or other sample) has confirmed you have leptospirosis, or one test suggests it and a repeat test is planned.
- If you have any complication from leptospirosis, it must meet specific definitions related to kidney, blood pressure, breathing, or other organs.
- You are not already on dialysis or have a history of chronic kidney disease.
- You do not have other serious conditions like advanced cancer, certain heart disease, HIV, active tuberculosis, severe liver disease, or severe malnutrition (weight under 77 lbs).
- You are not pregnant.
