Preventing insomnia in teens with family history

This study aims to prevent insomnia in young people who already have mild sleep problems and have a parent with a history of insomnia. You may qualify if your sleep symptoms happen occasionally, but you do not have a diagnosed sleep disorder or certain other mental health or medical issues.

Who can take part

  • You are between 15 and 24 years old
  • Your parent(s) can consent if you are under 18, and you can also agree to join
  • You have mild (not severe) insomnia symptoms at least monthly, but less than 3 times per week, in the last month
  • At least one biological parent has (now or in the past) a diagnosis of insomnia
  • You do not currently have (and haven’t had) certain mental health conditions
  • You are not receiving structured psychotherapy, and you don’t have serious suicidal thoughts or a plan
