Who can take part

  • You are age 18 to 50, and you are pregnant with one baby (singleton).
  • You’re between about 22 weeks and 29 weeks 6 days at enrollment.
  • Your baby has severe CDH on either the left or right side based on specific ultrasound/MRI measurements, including liver herniation (as defined by the study).
  • Genetic testing during pregnancy shows no major chromosome problems (karyotype or microarray normal).
  • A detailed fetal heart ultrasound shows no major heart structural problems, and other scans show no extra birth defects (CDH must be isolated).
  • You can stay near Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford (within 30 minutes) for the procedure period, and you plan care and delivery at Stanford.
