Who can take part

  • You have a spinal cord injury caused by trauma (an accident, not disease)
  • Your injury happened at least 1 year ago, and you’re age 20 or older
  • Your BMI is above 22 at the start of the study
  • You live at home in California (not in an extended care facility) and can travel to SCVMC for in-person checkups
  • You mainly use a wheelchair (more than 40 hours per week) and can use an iPad (or learn to)
  • You can speak English or Spanish and can make your own medical decisions
