Who can take part

  • You must be 18 years or older and have had heart surgery using a heart-lung machine
  • You must be able to understand the plan and give written consent
  • Your body weight is within a BMI range from about 18.5 to 35
  • Your pain during the visit should be mild (pain score under 4)
  • You must be fully awake and oriented (no confusion) during the visit
  • You must be prescribed non-invasive breathing support and physiotherapy
