This study tests whether a special 3D MRI scan (3D-MRE) can measure liver scarring and the high pressure in the liver called portal hypertension. It may help your team use imaging to understand how severe your liver disease is, especially when a pressure test (HVPG) is being considered.

Who can take part
- You are at least 18 years old and can give written consent
- You have confirmed advanced chronic liver disease (ACLD) from any cause
- Your doctor is planning a liver pressure measurement (HVPG), and your 3D-MRE MRI is done within 1 month beforehand
- You do not have liver or other body cancers, and you do not have large focal spots in the liver or spleen that could interfere with the scan
- You can safely have MRI and the HVPG test (no major MRI or HVPG safety issues)
- You have not had prior liver or spleen surgery that would affect the scan, and you were not on nonselective beta-blockers between the MRI and HVPG
