Who can take part

  • You are at least 18 years old
  • You recently had a stroke or TIA: symptoms lasted over 10 minutes or a brain scan confirms an ischemic stroke, and you’re past the initial stabilization period
  • Your stroke is from artery plaque or narrowing (atherosclerosis), shown by scan reports (carotid, brain arteries, or aortic arch plaque/thrombus)
  • You are able to take long-term antiplatelet therapy (and do NOT have a clear need for long-term blood-thinners like warfarin/DOACs for heart rhythm)
  • Your disability level is mild to moderate (Rankin score 0–4)
  • You are not required to take colchicine for gout/“Mediterranean fever,” and you do not have major digestive inflammation
