Who can take part

  • You’re Chinese and between 40 and 80 years old
  • You had a first-ever ischemic stroke within 8 weeks before joining
  • Your brain artery narrowing is at least 50% in specific arteries (middle cerebral or basilar), caused by atherosclerosis
  • Your stroke or mini-stroke matched the blood vessel area affected (symptoms in the last 8 weeks)
  • You must be able to give informed consent and complete brain scans (CTA/MRI/DSA if needed)
  • You must not have conditions that make colchicine unsafe (for example kidney disease, certain blood problems, chronic diarrhea/IBD, colchicine allergy)
