Who can take part
- You have severe gum disease: stage III or stage IV (all severity grades).
- After non-surgical gum treatment, you still have deep gum pockets (more than 5 mm) plus bleeding when checked, 4 to 6 weeks later.
- Your plaque levels between teeth stay controlled during treatment (interproximal plaque index under 35%).
- You can attend your ongoing gum maintenance visits as scheduled.
- You do not have a medical condition that makes gum surgery unsafe.
- The teeth involved do not have wrong or incomplete root canal treatment or poor restorations.
