Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older
  • You are currently on a breathing machine through an endotracheal tube (a tube in your windpipe)
  • You received a medicine that temporarily relaxes your muscles (a neuromuscular blocker) for intubation or after intubation
  • Your healthcare team must be able to check your brain activity/assessment while you’re in the study
  • You must not have died before the breathing tube is removed
