Who can take part
- Be an adult (18+) and able to give informed consent before any study steps
- Have lupus confirmed by the study’s SLE criteria (doctor-confirmed lupus diagnosis that fits 2019 EULAR/ACR rules)
- Use reliable birth control during the study (or meet an approved pregnancy-free situation such as being surgically sterile, 1+ year past menopause, or consistently not having sex)
- No prior shingles vaccine Shingrix (or live shingles vaccine Zostavax) and no shingles infection in the last 12 months
- No major lupus flare at screening (flare rules based on rSFI and SLE activity) and no worsening lupus signs right at enrollment
- Avoid certain recent vaccines and immune medicines (no vaccines within 6 weeks, and no rituximab or cyclophosphamide within 9 months)
