Testing amino acid needs in TPN-fed premature newborns

Who can take part

  • Your baby must be born at 28 weeks or later
  • Your baby must be 28 days old or younger when the study starts
  • Your baby must be getting at least 90% of calories and protein from TPN (IV nutrition)
  • Your baby must be medically stable with normal blood tests and no fever or infection
  • If your baby had surgery, they must be at least 3 days past surgery
