This Phase 3 study compares a new inhaler (QMF149: indacaterol plus mometasone) against budesonide to see which works better and is safe for children ages 6 to under 12 with asthma. You may be able to join if your child is already on a stable low-dose steroid inhaler and still has symptoms.

Who can take part

  • Your child must be 6 to under 12 years old at the start of the random study treatment
  • Your child must have a confirmed asthma diagnosis for at least 12 months
  • Your asthma must be symptomatic at the randomization visit (symptom score ACQ-IA must be at least 1.5)
  • Before starting, your child must be on a stable low-dose inhaled steroid plan (and not other controller medicines) during the run-in period
  • Breathing test rules: lung function (FEV1) must meet a minimum target, and a breathing response test to rescue medicine must be done
  • You (parent/guardian) must be able to attend visits and help with daily inhaler use and an electronic symptom diary
