Who can take part
- Be a man age 18 or older and be willing to sign the study consent form
- Have prostate cancer confirmed by tissue testing (adenocarcinoma and/or neuroendocrine/small cell type)
- Have cancer that has spread to other parts of the body, confirmed on scans (bone scan, CT, and/or MRI)
- Have aggressive prostate cancer features (for example, small cell type, certain high-risk metastasis patterns, or fast progression after hormone treatment)
- Not have received certain past treatments: no prior pembrolizumab/PD-1/PD-L1/PD-L2, no prior carboplatin or cabazitaxel, and no cancer therapy within 4 weeks
- Be well enough to participate (good functional status) and have recent tumor tissue available for lab testing
