Who can take part
- You are 18 years or older and need total thyroid removal, with or without lymph node removal in the center of the neck
- You can understand the study and agree to sign the informed consent form
- You have not had prior thyroid or parathyroid surgery
- You do not have a parathyroid condition that requires parathyroid removal during the same operation
- You can safely receive ICG dye (no contraindications to the dye)
- You are not currently taking drugs or using alcohol in a way that could interfere with following the study plan, and you were not in another drug study in the month before randomization
