Who can take part
- You can sign written consent and agree to blood draws, PET scans, MRI scans, and thinking/memory testing
- If you can become pregnant, you must have a negative pregnancy test before screening and before each scan day
- For people with HIV: you’re on HIV treatment (cART) and your virus has been well controlled for at least 1 year
- In the prior year, your HIV viral load was not extremely high in the same period (and not above the allowed limits)
- You do not have active substance dependence (for example, certain drugs or alcohol dependence)
- You can safely have MRI and PET: no metal/implants that block MRI, no serious brain illness, and radiation exposure must be within limits
