Who can take part
- You are Emirati and older than 11 years old.
- You have type 1 or type 2 diabetes that started between 6 months old and before age 40.
- You have been seen at Tawam Hospital within the last year.
- You’ve had antibody testing before, and the results were negative.
- Your past records do not show serious “ketoacidosis” or significant ketosis.
- Your BMI is below 40 (no severe obesity).
- Your diabetes was not caused by another condition (for example, diabetes after pancreatitis).
- Your C-peptide test does not suggest type 1 diabetes (no absent or very low C-peptide activity).
