Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older
  • You have painful cancer that has spread to the spine, and doctors say it can be treated with radiation
  • Your cancer diagnosis is confirmed by pathology (a prior biopsy or documented cancer type)
  • You can read and sign a consent form
  • Your overall function is fairly good (ECOG 0 to 3, meaning you’re able to do daily activities at some level)
  • You have not had prior radiation to nearby areas that would overlap and cause too much dose to organs
