Who can take part
- You must be an adult (age 18 or older)
- You were admitted to the ICU within 48 hours (less than 2 days)
- Your ICU stay started within 72 hours of coming to the emergency department
- Your illness must seem critically severe right away, such as confusion, breathing failure, circulation failure, or suspected severe infection
- You will not qualify if you were admitted to the ICU mainly because there were no beds (no clear severe illness)
