ARDSSepsisPneumonia

Treatments studied

Part of Infections, Lungs & breathing clinical trials.

This study collects blood samples from people in the ICU with sudden heart or lung problems caused by inflammation. The goal is to learn more about these conditions and improve future treatments.

Lung fluid study for sepsis-related breathing problems

This study looks at the air sacs (alveoli) in your lungs to understand how they are affected by sepsis and a related condition called ARDS. By sampling the fluid in your lungs through a bronchoscopy, researchers hope to find new ways to treat and prevent lung damage.

NCT05336851Recruiting
Emergency breathing test study for sudden lung infections

This trial tests an emergency breathing-related approach for adults with a sudden, community-acquired respiratory infection. It may help doctors quickly sort out what’s going on and guide early care.

Bioinformatics study in adults with very early severe ICU illness

This trial studies how early severe illness in the ICU can be understood and tracked using health data (bioinformatics/informatics). It may help improve care decisions for people who arrive to the ICU soon after an emergency department visit.

NCT04103281Recruiting
Blood test study of immune cell markers in ICU sepsis

This trial looks at patterns in certain immune cells (neutrophils) in people with sepsis in the ICU, including those who have a breathing tube. It may help doctors better understand how the immune system changes during sepsis and could guide future care.

NCT05795257Recruiting
Studying lung immune cells and gut microbes in ARDS

This trial studies how immune cells in the lungs and gut microbes (your microbiome) change during ARDS and how these changes relate to your outcomes. It may help researchers better predict and treat ARDS by learning what’s going on in the lungs and body systems.

ARDS biomarker study

This study is for patients in the ICU with ARDS (a severe lung condition). It looks at biomarkers (special substances in your blood) to help understand different types of ARDS. You do not receive any treatment, but you help researchers learn more about the disease.
