Who can take part
- Your liver cancer (HCC) has come back, and there is no spread to lymph nodes or distant organs
- You previously had surgery or radiofrequency ablation, and the cancer did not return within 6 months
- Your tumor matches “early stage” limits: one size under 5 cm, or up to 3 spots each under 3 cm; no blood-vessel invasion and not outside the liver
- Your remaining healthy liver is sufficient for treatment (remnant liver volume beyond the target is > 700 ml)
- You must have enough blood counts and organ function (for example, hemoglobin ≥8, platelets ≥50, and good white blood cell/neutrophil levels)
- You can safely have radiation: good performance status (ECOG 0–1), Child-Pugh A–B liver function, and no nearby bowel within 0.5 cm
