Brain stimulation timed to brain rhythms after recent stroke

This trial tests a special brain-stimulation approach that targets your brain’s natural 8–12 Hz rhythm to improve arm and hand recovery after stroke. It’s designed for people in the early days after an ischemic stroke, when motor recovery is still changing quickly.

Who can take part

  • You are 18 or older and can understand the study and sign consent.
  • Your ischemic stroke (caused by blocked blood flow) happened 1–14 days ago, confirmed by brain scan (MRI or CT).
  • You have a new weakness in your arm/hand, with a moderate level of movement difficulty (FMA-UE score 50 or lower).
  • You can produce specific brain responses when doctors test the hand muscles (motor-evoked potentials/MEPs) while the hand muscles are at rest; if first not found, the test may be repeated within 14 days.
  • Your EEG can detect a brain rhythm called “mu-oscillation” (8–12 Hz) over the stroke-affected motor area with good signal quality.
  • You can safely follow the visit schedule and other study instructions.
