Who can take part

  • Your baby must be born at one of the trial hospitals (trial sites).
  • Your baby’s gestational age at birth must be between 24 weeks 0 days and 29 weeks 6 days.
  • Your baby must have breathing trouble (RDS) and be on CPAP with a pressure of at least 6 cm H2O, with oxygen needs (FiO2) greater than 0.30.
  • Before starting the LISA treatment, there must not be concerns for underdeveloped lungs (lung hypoplasia).
  • Your baby must not have been intubated (given a breathing tube) at any time before randomization.
