Testing a lung treatment for colorectal cancer spread to lungs
Treatments studied
Part of Cancer, Digestive system clinical trials.
This Phase 1 trial tests a targeted treatment delivered to the lungs for colorectal cancer that has spread to the lungs. It aims to see if the approach is safe and can reach lung tumors, especially when there are multiple lung lesions.
Summary written for real people, not researchers, by Clin2.
Who can take part
- You have colorectal cancer that has spread to both lungs (bilateral lung metastases)
- You have at least 3 total lung lesions (tumor spots seen on scans)
- You are 70 years old or younger
- Your general health is good enough for daily activities (ECOG 0–2)
- Your cancer is not outside the lungs, except you may also have liver spots that could be treated with a cure

This trial tests a combination of an immunotherapy drug (PD-1 inhibitor), growth factors, and chemotherapy (CapeOX) for people whose colorectal cancer has spread only to the liver. The goal is to see if this combination shrinks the tumors enough to allow surgery to remove them completely.
This trial tests a combination of chemotherapy, an immunotherapy drug (anti-PD-1 antibody), and sitagliptin before surgery for colorectal cancer that has not spread to other organs. The goal is to see if this approach can shrink the tumor and improve outcomes.
This Phase 3 trial tests a treatment approach for colorectal cancer that cannot be removed with surgery at first but has spread only to the liver. It is intended for people whose tumor is RAS/BRAF “wild-type” and who are well enough to do daily activities, to see if the treatment can control the cancer better.
This trial tests a combination of three chemotherapy drugs (liposomal irinotecan, oxaliplatin, and capecitabine) given directly into the liver blood vessel after surgery to remove colorectal cancer that has spread to the liver. The goal is to reduce the chance of cancer coming back.
This trial tests a combination of low-dose radiation, chemotherapy, and immunotherapy for people with colorectal cancer that has spread only to the liver. The goal is to see if this approach can shrink tumors and improve outcomes.
This trial tests whether adding two targeted drugs (serplulimab and bevacizumab) to standard chemotherapy before surgery can improve outcomes for people with colorectal cancer that has spread to the liver. It is for those whose cancer has certain genetic features and is considered resectable.
