Who can take part

  • Your baby was born between 22 and 41 weeks of pregnancy (gestational age).
  • Your baby needs a breathing machine (mechanical ventilation).
  • A parent or guardian can provide written consent for the study.
  • Your baby does not have major birth defects of the lungs or heart.
  • Your baby is not being treated with a special ventilator type called high-frequency oscillatory ventilation.
