Testing EIT-guided PEEP adjustment for ARDS patients in prone position

Who can take part

  • You have moderate to severe ARDS, meaning your oxygen levels are quite low despite being on a ventilator.
  • You need a central venous catheter (a special IV) for your care.
  • You are not pregnant or in the postpartum period.
  • Your BMI is 35 or less.
  • You have been on a ventilator for less than 48 hours.
  • You do not have severe unstable blood pressure or need for ECMO, and you do not have conditions that prevent lying face down (prone positioning), such as certain injuries or recent heart surgery.
