Ultrasound light added to usual care for infected diabetic foot ulcers

Who can take part

  • You must be able and willing to sign consent before any study checks or tests.
  • You’re 18 or older and have either type 1 or type 2 diabetes.
  • Your recent blood sugar levels (HbA1c) must be 10% or less, and fasting glucose must be under 300 mg/dl.
  • You have an infected diabetic foot ulcer below the ankle that is between 2 and 40 square centimeters (and no longer than 10 cm across).
  • The ulcer must be both deep enough and infected enough based on the PEDIS categories, but it must not reach the bone.
  • You must be able to take pills by mouth, follow the study plan, and avoid certain recent antibiotics and procedures.
