Who can take part
- You were referred to a lipid (cholesterol) clinic in Southern Denmark
- Your LDL cholesterol is high: at least 4 mmol/L if you’re under 40
- Your LDL cholesterol is high: at least 5 mmol/L if you’re 40 or older
- You are not pregnant
- You do not have a secondary cause of high cholesterol, such as poorly controlled diabetes or thyroid problems
- You do not have very high triglycerides, nephrotic syndrome, recent bile-flow problems, or medication-caused high cholesterol
