Who can take part

  • You are between 19 and 65 years old.
  • You are currently getting treatment for alcohol use disorder.
  • You can safely have an MRI scan (no unsafe metal/implants, and you can stay in the scanner up to 1 hour).
  • You do not have seizure risk factors (no personal seizure history, and no close family history of epilepsy).
  • You have no conditions that make TMS unsafe (certain implanted head/medical devices, certain brain/nerve conditions, or recent serious head injury).
  • You are not in active alcohol withdrawal and do not have current psychotic symptoms or a family history of schizophrenia.
