Blood-sample study of stroke patterns using multiple tests

This study looks at blood and lab “molecular” patterns in people who have had an ischemic stroke (a blocked blood vessel). It aims to understand differences between people labeled as having “phlegm-heat syndrome” versus not, which may help future stroke care. You may be eligible if your stroke was recent and confirmed by MRI.

Who can take part

  • You had an ischemic stroke confirmed by MRI (a blocked-vessel stroke).
  • Your stroke symptoms started within the last 72 hours.
  • You are between 50 and 80 years old (male or female).
  • A clinician has labeled you as having “phlegm-heat syndrome” or “non-phlegm-heat syndrome.”
  • You are able to give written informed consent.
