Who can take part

  • You’re being admitted to the hospital very soon after sudden brain symptoms (within 36 hours for stroke types, within 7 days for a TIA).
  • Your symptoms match specific diagnoses: eligible stroke types (ischemic stroke needing clot removal, subarachnoid bleeding, or a brain bleed in the tissue) or a suspected TIA based on interview and ABCD2 score.
  • If you’re in the TIA group, you must be evaluated before the first brain scan and have an ABCD2 score of 2 or higher.
  • You can give informed consent (or have legal ability to participate).
  • You must have social security coverage (be a member or beneficiary).
