Personalized ablation plan for persistent atrial fibrillation
Part of Heart & circulation clinical trials.
This trial looks at whether tailoring an ablation procedure to you can work better for people with persistent atrial fibrillation. It’s for patients getting their first left atrial ablation and who have had AF for less than 24 months.
Summary written for real people, not researchers, by Clin2.
Who can take part
- You are having a catheter ablation for persistent atrial fibrillation (AF)
- Your AF has been present for less than 24 months
- You have never had a prior ablation in the left atrium
- You are willing and able to sign an informed consent form
- You are age 18 or older
- You do not have medical reasons that make catheter ablation unsafe for you

This trial is testing a specific approach to catheter ablation for people with persistent atrial fibrillation. It aims to improve how abnormal heart tissue is targeted to help restore a normal rhythm.
This trial tests a catheter ablation procedure for people with persistent atrial fibrillation (a type of irregular heartbeat that lasts more than 7 days but less than a year). It aims to see if the procedure is safe and effective for restoring a normal heart rhythm.
This trial tests whether using a special heart-mapping device during ablation (a procedure to fix irregular heartbeats) can improve outcomes for people with persistent atrial fibrillation and an enlarged left heart chamber.
This trial tests a new type of ablation (pulsed-field) to treat persistent atrial fibrillation (AFib) that lasts more than 7 days. You may qualify if you have symptoms and haven't had other heart ablation procedures except for one specific type.
This trial tests if a repeat catheter ablation procedure can help people with persistent atrial fibrillation who still have symptoms after their first procedure. If you've already had a pulmonary vein isolation, this study may offer a chance at better rhythm control.
This study tests a new way to treat long-lasting atrial fibrillation using focused energy (pulse field ablation) guided by special heart mapping. It may help people who have not improved with medications or have other heart problems like heart failure.
