Who can take part
- You are 5–17 years old and able to walk around normally (ambulatory).
- You were a normal weight at birth.
- Your height is within certain growth chart ranges for your age group.
- You should not have major genetic problems or long-term (chronic) illnesses, and you should not take prescription medicines.
- If you have growth hormone testing results, they must match the study group (healthy, growth hormone deficiency, or idiopathic short stature) and your kidney/liver tests must be normal. Avoid growth-related medicines like steroids or thyroid hormone within the last 6 months.
