Who can take part

  • You have rectal cancer and your surgery is planned as robot-assisted rectal removal
  • Your pre-surgery urinary and rectal function is intact (not significantly impaired)
  • You can fully understand the study and give informed consent
  • You have not had other cancers within the last 5 years before your rectal cancer diagnosis
  • You have not had abdominal surgery before, except specific minor cases (appendix removal, gallbladder removal, or C-section)
