Who can take part
- You are an adult (18 years or older).
- You are in shock with low blood pressure that needs medicines called catecholamines (for example, norepinephrine).
- Your norepinephrine dose is at least 0.1 micrograms per kilogram per minute at the time you enter the study.
- Your central venous pressure is high (at least 12 mmHg), which means pressures around the heart are elevated.
- You have special heart/blood flow monitoring in place (PICCO or a Swan-Ganz catheter).
